Calvary Chapel Of York is an inner city church located in a refurbished factory complex at 423 Norway Street in York, Pennsylvania and has several unique features and a church family that takes the concept of family in the body of Christ to new levels of commitment. I have personally experienced this family concept and the love it generates in action through the pastor, associate pastor, youth pastor and people of Calvary Chapel and my heart and life have been deeply touched as I seek to know and learn about life in a family.
One of the very unique features Calvary Chapel incorporates into the overall family worship experience is a cafe where the body of Christ can fellowship before and after the services. Free coffee, both decaf and regular, is available before, during and after the service and after the service a table, (pictured below), is set up and several kinds of baked goodies are also offered freely to those in attendance. The cafe area has the additional benefit of a sound system which allows those in the cafe area to hear the service live as it takes place in the Sanctuary. I have Parkinson's disease and because of my body shaking at times and because one of the medications I am taking causes me to cough at times intermittently, many times I will sit in the cafe area where I can lay out my bible and follow the sermon in a very relaxed and comfortable environment and enjoy a cup of coffee, which seems to help ease the intermittent coughing also.

Pictured above are Harry, an Elder and the Youth Pastor, and five of the members of the youth group at Calvary Chapel in York, Pennsylvania who came to my home, (they also went to at least two other homes that day), when I became too ill to keep up with things, to share God's love with me. They were an awesome witness to me and even more so to my neighbors who knew something was wrong when my yard work began to fall behind. They worked that day both inside and outside my home and even got into the basement. I cannot put into words how deeply they touched my heart that day and how profoundly they showed me the love of God in real time. By the time they left I felt alive, thankful, relieved and human again and most of all, loved! All I can do is say thank you to them with a few tears in my eyes.
